Army veteran Charles Rahming and wife Mary accept new home from Habitat for Humanity

DELRAY BEACH, Fla. - Local army veteran Charles Rahming and his wife Mary received the keys to their brand new home Saturday thanks to Habitat for Humanity.

A number of habitat groups just wrapped up their "Home Builders Blitz 2014".

It's a partnership in which professional homebuilders and construction firms work to build and renovate nearly 260 homes nationwide.

The new three bedroom/two bath home features granite countertops, stone tiles, new lights, and brand new closets and shelves donated by EZ Shelf.

Mike Campbell of Habitat for Humanity says, "Whether they're a veteran or whether they're a single mom with three children, just the opportunity to know that people in the community give back."

Rahming beamed, "It's awesome. I can't believe that 14 days ago this was just an empty lot and now look at the finished product, it's awesome."

This is the 116th house built by the south county chapter of Habitat for Humanity.
