Amir Talebzedah arrested in connection with fatal July 1 Delray Beach crash

DELRAY BEACH, Fla. - A suspect has been arrested in connection with a fatal crash in suburban Delray Beach in July.

On Dec. 3, 2013, a warrant was obtained for Amir Talebzedah, according to PBSO.

Deputies say Talebzadeh was speeding when he collided with Fran Abel on Jog Road on July 1st, as she was pulling out of Mizner Preserve Way.

Abel died at the scene.

Talebzadeh's attorney Jamie Benjamin says Abel was distracted with her phone. "My client's family and my client's heart goes out to this tragic situation with this woman, but this woman ran a stop sign and came out in the middle of traffic and was also at fault at an accident."

According to prosecutors, Talebzadeh has several speeding tickets dating back to 2008.

Talebzadeh appeared before a judge Wednesday morning where he was given house arrest. He's charged with vehicular homicide and manslaughter by culpable negligence.
