BOYNTON BEACH, Fla. - A Boynton Beach man has been arrested and charged with causing the death of his father.
The Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office says that 46-year-old William Currier had been taking care of his father, 70-year-old William Currier.
Deputies say that when they were called to the Currier residence they found that Currier Sr., had died.
Currier, Sr., was 5'8'' and weighed 81 pounds at the time of his death, according to PBSO.
Investigators say that the victim had multiple bedsores on his body and was covered in feces and urine.
Deputies say that there was food in the home which the son said that he bought for his father.
William Currier told deputies that his father was stubborn and did not want him to hire help because he was afraid that they would steal from him.
The father also did not want to go into a nursing home.
Currier told deputies that, "I did the best that I could do and I did not do a good job, I admit it. They also said that he stated, "Just take me away and lock me up."
Investigators says that William Currier died of starvation.
His son was charged with first degree murder and aggravated abuse of an elderly person.
