Sketch of purse snatching suspect circulating after robbery at Fountains of Boynton Beach

BOYNTON BEACH, Fla. -- The Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office is counting on the public's memory to help them catch a purse snatcher who robbed a couple at the Fountains of Boynton shopping center.

Detectives are circulating a composite sketch of the suspect hoping someone will recognize and report him to local police.

The strong arm robbery happened on April 15, around 3:15 p.m. as the victim and her fiancé were walking to their car from the Cleopatra Arcade on the 6600 block of Boynton Beach Blvd., west of Boynton Beach.

The suspect came up from behind, grabbed the victim's purse and knocked her to the ground before running off through the parking lot toward the Goodyear Tire Store. He jumped into the back seat of a newer model, silver, four-door Mazda, with two other people inside, and sped away, investigators said.

The suspect was wearing a red, green and yellow striped shirt, they said.

Detectives are urging anyone who can identify the suspect to contact Crime Stoppers at 1-800-458-8477.
