Pit bull bites 4-year-old Boynton Beach girl

BOYNTON BEACH, Fla. - A four-year-old Boynton Beach girl is recovering after her neighbor’s dog bit her.

Officers say the pit bull got out through an open gate at a home on Northwest 3rd Street and attacked the child who was playing in her yard.

She has several bites on her left side, finger and ankle.

She was treated and released from Bethesda Hospital.

The dog's owner says the animal got out after a gate was mistakenly left open.

The owner needs to bring the dog in to be quarantined.
