BOYNTON BEACH, Fla. - One person is dead after a stabbing at "The Backyard," a raw bar in Boynton Beach.
Police say the stabbing happened at just before 1 a.m. at the establishment off the 500 block of NE 4th Street in Boynton Beach.
According to Stephanie Slater, spokeswoman for the Boynton Beach Police Department, officers were alerted to a fight between patrons.
Upon their arrival, officers saw Vakhtang Magradze, 27, stab Ryan Gill, 33, multiple times, confirms Slater.
Police say several patrons and employees of the bar tried to intervene. In the process, two Cuthills employees were stabbed by Magradze, according to Slater. The injuries were not life threatening.
Magradze also tried to stab a police officer as he attempted to take him into custody.
Gill was transported to Delray Trauma Center where he died from his injuries, according to Slater.
Police say Vakhtang Magradze and his brother, Alexandre Magradze, were taken to Bethesda Hospital with minor injuries. Both are now in the Palm Beach County Jail.
Vakhtang Magradze was charged with second-degree murder, aggravated assault on a law enforcement officer, resisting an officer with violence, and two counts of aggravated battery.
Alexandre Magradze was charged with affray.
