Lenny Jean Charles: Toddler dies after being struck by a vehicle in suburban Boynton Beach

BOYNTON BEACH, Fla. - The Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office is investigating a fatal crash involving a 2-year-old boy.

According to a release from the sheriff's office, a vehicle driven by Gregory Jean Charles was traveling eastbound in the 4600 block of Concordia Lane when it struck the child, Lenny Jean Charles.

The relation between the two was not immediately available from the sheriff's office.

The boy was transported to Delray Medical Center where he was pronounced deceased.  There is no information on charges at this time.

Outside of the child’s home on Concordia Lane, a memorial with balloons, flowers and a picture of the child is set up around the mailbox.

"I've seem him around. It's really hurts me cause I love kids and I have a little brother. You never know when they're going to lose someone. They could be here on day, gone the next," said neighbor Jahnee Robertson.

The child's father said he planned to take his son on vacation in two weeks.
