Jupiter man arrested after fleeing with only one shoe from Home Depot

Caught concealing items in his pants at Home Depot

BOYNTON BEACH, Fla. - A 24-year-old Jupiter man was arrested for strong arm robbery, resisting arrest and tampering with evidence after a failed attempt at stealing from a Boynton Beach Home Depot on Thursday afternoon, police said.

Brian Neale was spotted in the plumbing section of the Home Depot at 1500 SW 8th Street, placing items in an orange bucket and later removing the items and concealing them in his pants, a police report said.

Anthony Varona, the store's loss prevention officer, approached Neale after he walked past the registers. Neale fled on foot.

Neale was reported moving northbound with only one shoe.

Police units found Neale on Industrial Avenue, more than 15 blocks north of the store,and arrested him. When asked about the stolen merchandise, Neale told police that he threw it in the garden center.

Neale came before Circuit Court Judge Ted Booras this morning and was ordered held on a $13,000 bond.
