Computer dispute leads to hit and run in Boynton Beach

Man charged with aggravated battery

BOYNTON BEACH - A Boynton Beach man was detained Tuesday after a hit and run incident involving an Office Depot employee, according to the Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office.

Witnesses said Andre Kinchen, the manager of Office Depot on Lake Worth Road, was in front of the store after a dispute over a computer bill with a customer who left the store screaming and cursing, according to a probable cause affidavit.

A short time later a green Oldsmobile Bravada raced up the sidewalk where Kinchen was standing.

The affidavit states the vehicle struck Kinchen and he flipped over the hood according to Office Depot employee Timothy Pethtel.

Investigators were given the license plate of the Bravada and deputies traced it to John D'errico of Lake Worth.

Kinchen is being treated at JFK Hospital, while D'errico has been charged with aggravated battery.
