Boynton Beach police are putting out a call for action.

The department is collecting diapers and wipes for a domestic violence shelter.

The director at Aid to Victims of Domestic Abuse, AVDA, said the majority of the women at their shelter are pregnant or have children.

One survivor shared her story of coming to the shelter with three young children.

“The reality of entering a domestic violence shelter without your diaper bag is devastating,” explained Jackie Jones.

Organizers at the police department said providing these items will give victims one less thing to worry about.

This drive runs through Mother’s Day, this Sunday.

You can drop off diapers and wipes in the police department lobby 24-7. It is located at 100 E. Boynton Beach Blvd.
