Boynton Beach homicide: Man found dead in backseat of car parked in front of pizza store

Car reported stolen out of Riviera Beach

BOYNTON BEACH, Fla. - Police are investigating a homicide at 1500 block of SW 8th Street in Boynton Beach, says Stephanie Slater, spokeswoman for the Boynton Beach Police Department.

Slater confirms a 24-year-old man was found dead in the backseat of a car parked in front of Nini's Pizza, at 5:42 p.m.

Police say, a Nissan had been stolen during a carjacking  several days ago in Riviera Beach, and was found at 1 a.m., Friday morning on Broadway. The suspects fled in the victim's Ford Explorer.

The vehicle was recovered in the area of Hibiscus Park, according to authorities.

Police identified the victim Tuesday morning as 24-year-old David Braaf, of 2334 S.W. 13th St., Boynton Beach.

A small memorial was set up outside Braaf's house.

According to neighbors, Braaf had a wife and 2 children, and a military background.

NewsChannel 5 tried to reach the family, but there was no response.
