Alexis Gonzalez charged with stealing merchandise from several Best Buy stores

BOYNTON BEACH, Fla. - A Hialeah man is in custody after Boynton Beach police say that he used unauthorized credit cards to purchase computers and other electronics from Best Buy stores in Boynton Beach and Wellington.

Boynton Beach police say that on Tuesday  around 6 p-m they were called to the Best Buy at 550 N Congress Avenue.

Store employees told officers that Alexis Gonzalez had purchased a MacBook Pro, iPad Air and an iPad Air case using a line of credit that he had opened previously at the Best Buy in Wellington.

Gonzalez, according to investigators, had opened the line of credit using fraudulent identification.

Police say that Gonzalez was driving a U Haul Van which contained TVs and numerous bags of merchandise inside.

Officers say that headphones and a computer were stolen from the Wellington store.

Gonzalez, according to police, also had outstanding warrants for violation of probation for thefts in Broward and Highlands County.

Police booked Gonzalez into the Palm Beach County Jail on fraud, using unauthorized credit cards and driver's license and grand theft charges.
