A therapy dog named Harley is the newest member of the Boynton Beach Police Department

The Boynton Beach Police Department just employed its newest four-legged member to the force.

The department issued photographs of Harley with her handler Detective Astrel Labbe.

Harley, a 3-year-old Beagle mix, is a therapy dog.

Detective Labbe is a 14-year veteran who specializes in investigations of crimes against children and the elderly.

The police department says it is the first municipal agency in the state of to employ a therapy dog.

Harley was trained at the Paws & Stripes College at the Brevard County Sheriff's Office.
