Boynton Beach police said a hit-and-run crash Sunday night seriously injured a 17-year-old bicyclist.

The teen was operating a gasoline-powered bicycle southbound in the 200 block of Southwest Second Street at around 7 p.m.

According to Boynton Beach police spokesman Stephanie Slater, when the teen entered the intersection at Southwest First Avenue, he was struck by a silver pickup truck, possibly a Toyota Tacoma or similar style vehicle.

The teen was ejected from the bicycle and landed in the road. The driver of the pickup truck did not stop to render aid, but continued traveling west on Southwest First Avenue.

The teen was taken to Delray Medical Center in stable condition.

Anyone with information about the driver or vehicle should call Traffic Homicide Investigator Lawrence Rini at 561-732-8116 or Crime Stoppers of Palm Beach County at 800-458-TIPS.
