BOYTNON BEACH, Fla. - A 14-month-old remains in critical condition after a family member accidently ran over him with his car Saturday morning, said Stephanie Slater, spokeswoman for Boynton Beach Police Department.
The 14-month-old has been identified as Jorgan Saint Leger, said Slater.
The accident happened around 10 a.m. in the 100 block of North Atlantic Drive. The toddler was playing with a 5-year-old boy in the driveway of the home, when the toddler's uncle backed out of the driveway in a 1995 red BMW and ran over the 14-month-old-boy, Slater said.
The uncle of the toddler has been identified as Jean Max Saint Leger, 24.
The 5-year-old immediately rushed over and pulled him from underneath the car, said Slater.
The family member drove the boy to Bethesda Hospital, but he was later transferred to Delray Trauma Center due to the severity of his injuries, said Slater.
Any charges are pending in the outcome of the investigation, Boynton Beach Police said.
