A judge sets a trial date for a man charged with the first-degree murder of a Florida Atlantic University student.

Boca Raton police say Alexander Gillis is one of four people who robbed and killed 19-year-old Nicholas Acostawho lived at the University Park apartments off NW 20th Street.

They say cell phone records helped link Gillis to the crime.

Thursday Gillis went before a judge who set his trial for September 19th.

Less than a month ago, co-defendant Rodrick Woods pleaded guilty to charges of second-degree murder, burglary and robbery with a firearm.

Woods pleaded guilty in hopes of a lesser sentence; prosecutors say he agreed to testify against the others charged in the case.
