Residents in Boca Gardens are on edge this week after several cars were broken into in the last several days.
Some had their car windows smashed in, change and electronics stolen. Others, lost something with immense sentimental value.
There were more than a dozen neighbors in Boca Gardens who reported similar break-ins within the last week.
“I noticed my car was ruffled through,” said Kelly McMahon.
McMahon said she had something stolen, something she can’t replace.
She said her son Marlin’s bike was stolen.
It’s the bike Marlin’s father gave to him before he died less than two years ago.
“This is irreplaceable to him. Every little thing the he has left from his father is important to him,” said McMahon.
The West Boca mom admitted her car doors were not locked and she regrets the mistake. Now, her only hope is that someone will recognize the bike and return it or that deputies will track down who ever is responsible.
A PBSO spokesperson tells WPTV investigators are reviewing surveillance video and are increasing patrols in the neighborhood.
