BOCA RATON, Fla. - Hundreds of state educators spent Friday in Boca Raton for a driver’s education conference.
The 7th annual conference, hosted by the Dori Slosberg Foundation, helps driver education teachers understand new driving safety techniques and updated traffic laws across Florida.
Florida Representative Irv Slosberg says conferences like these keep young drivers on the right path.
"With all the distractions going on, our crash rates are going up, our fatalities are going up and we just have to sort of control things in the legislature and I have a lot of bills trying to do that.," said Slosberg.
Slosberg says he hopes to pass to a new bill during the session that would prevent drivers from texting and talking while driving through school zones.
