Some FAU students say they are not surprised an employee was arrested for voyeurism

BOCA RATON, Fla. - Some Florida Atlantic students said Wednesday they were not surprised to learn a former library coordinator was arrested for videotaping men in the restrooms.

"To hear that someone was filming the bathroom, I'm not surprised because they have such little privacy," FAU student Taylor Griner said.

FAU Police arrested Seth. M. Thompson on multiple counts of video voyeurism and video voyeurism dissemination.

Police say Thompson admitted to taking the videos and posting them to internet pornography sites.

"It became a bit of a personal challenge to him in his own words," FAU Police Chief Charles Lowe said.

Lowe says the investigation started in June when a student saw a video of himself online and came to Campus Police.

They began investigating and traced the videos back to Thompson performing a search warrant at his Lake Worth home.

They say that is when he admitted to the crimes and even showed them where he took the videos.

Police say the videos were taken in a bathroom near the Starbucks on campus and inside the library.

Police say inside some of the stalls they found holes in the wall.

"I've seen a couple of those holes around campus actually," Griner said.

The police chief says he is not sure if all the videos have been removed from the internet.

"I do know that there were other victims based on the videos that we recovered...I can't tell you if in fact they are students or faculty or staff," Chief Lowe said.

Thompson is out of jail on bond. According to FAU, Thompson worked for the University since 2002 and resigned after the investigation started.
