BOCA RATON, Fla. - Traffic was slowed Friday morning on Interstate 95 South near Yamato Road after a semi hauling food caught fire.
The wreck occurred around 3:16 a.m. Several lanes were blocked for a couple of hours.
All lanes were back open by 8 a.m.
The driver said he started to smell smoke while driving on I-95, prompting him to pull over. The driver escaped safely before the vehicle exploded.
Delray Beach fire crews said they needed 3,000 gallons of water and foam to put out the blaze.
