Police question women outside 'squatter's' home

BOCA RATON, Fla. - Drama outside of the now-famous Boca squatter's home on Monday evening.

Police questioned two women for nearly an hour on Golden Harbour Dr. after making a traffic stop on the white vehicle they were driving.

A phone on the dashboard showed text messages from someone named Andre, which is the first name of Andre Barbosa, the supposed squatter who may be trying to use an obscure Florida law that would allows someone who occupies an abandoned home to get the deed to it as long as they pay taxes and maintain it.

Even though Bank of America has tried to evict Barbosa, neighbors believe he is still in the $2.5 million home.

The car was spotted leaving the squatter's house by a Boca police officer who the neighbors pay to watch over things.

The license plate on the car was covered.

The police questioned them about the incense plate and why it was covered, but they didn't ticket them, asked them to remove the cover and sent them on their way.

Neighbors can't take it anymore.

"I don't know what's going on. I don't know who those two women were. We're tired of this," said neighbor Art Grossman.

We tried to knock and ask what was happening, but no one answered the door.
