SUBURBAN BOCA RATON, Fla. - A man has died in a deputy-involved shooting in suburban Boca Raton, according to Palm Beach County Fire Rescue.
Deputies responded a few minutes after 9:30 p.m. to reports of a disturbance at an apartment complex in the 2300 block of Camino del Mar.
Authorities found a man with a knife outside the complex and deputies asked the man to put the knife down.
Deputies said the man refused to drop the weapon and lunged at them, said Eric Davis, spokesman for Palm Beach County Fire Rescue.
One of the deputies, feeling threatened, shot the man, Davis said.
The person, whose name has not been released, died at the scene.
