WEST BOCA RATON, Fla. - The Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office is warning residents of a new phone scam where a person is claiming to be a "high-ranking officer" with the sheriff's office.
The person then asks the resident to bring them bond money.
The sheriff's office says it has received a few calls from citizens alerting them to the scam.
So far, the caller is targeting residents in the West Boca Raton area.
The Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office advises that it does not make these types of calls and if you receive one, please call PBSO at 561-688-3400.
