Overturned chicken truck shut down northbound Florida Turnpike near Boca Raton

BOCA RATON, Fla. - A spilled load of packaged chicken shut down northbound lanes of Florida's Turnpike Monday afternoon near Boca Raton, authorities said.

A semi-trailer truck carrying the chicken cargo rolled over around 4 p.m. just north of the Glades Road exit, at mile marker 81, the Florida Highway Patrol said.

No one was seriously injured, but the scattered cargo led authorities to shut down all northbound lanes.

Troopers urged northbound drivers to exit at Glades Road to avoid getting stuck.  It is not clear what caused the crash, the FHP said.
