Lennox Ferguson arrested after running out of gas in a Mercedes Benz which police say was stolen

BOCA RATON, Fla. - On Wednesday, August 8, Boca Raton Police officers responded to a call of a disabled Mercedes Benz.

They arrived just before 8 p.m. and found the car blocking the intersection at Yamato Road and Congress Avenue.

The driver, Lennox Ferguson, 25, told police he had run out of gas. As the officer was talking to Ferguson, dispatch informed her the vehicle was reported stolen in Miami.

The officer ordered Ferguson out of the vehicle. Police say he initially complied, then boltedĀ  across several lanes of traffic before giving up.

Officers searched a backpack Ferguson had with him which contained three screwdrivers, black pants, black boots and a black long-sleeved shirt.

Ferguson was charged with grand theft of a motor vehicle, resisting arrest and possession of burglary tools.
