Thanks to Jewish Family Services and the Jewish Community Center in Boca Raton, volunteers made sure no one was alone for Thanksgiving, providing a warm meal among friends.

An overwhelming number of volunteers made sure more than 700 guests were not alone for the holiday.

Elysa Bowski of Ukraine was in attendance and was proud to be among nice, hospitable people.

Galina Zaitlin of Russia also attended and said she would have nowhere to go, no one to spend Thanksgiving with if it wasn’t for the event.

Among the 350 volunteers was Amy Ross, who eagerly signed up to help out.

"I do a lot of volunteer stuff and this is the one time everyone says yes," said Ross.

Etta Zimmerman sponsors the event held at the Boca Raton Jewish Community Center.

Many senior citizens were bussed to the location to enjoy a hot Thanksgiving meal, good conversation and fun music.

Organizers said this is the most volunteers they have had since the Thanksgiving Day event started years ago.
