BOCA RATON, Fla. - A Palm Beach County developer is making a pitch for a new spring training baseball stadium in Boca Raton.
Glenn Gromann made the push at the Boca Raton city council meeting on Tuesday night. He's trying to garner support and funding for the facility.
The Houston Astros and the Toronto Blue Jays have already expressed interest in relocating to Palm Beach County.
Gromann's plan also calls for adding a Tri-Rail station and a retail/hotel and office complex.
He claims the plan has the potential for a $60 million economic impact on the area.
"My primary focus is to try and keep spring training in Palm Beach County. If we can do it in Boca, fine (or) we can do it elsewhere as well. I'm just putting it out there for positive comment and positive feedback," said Gromann.
There has been no comment by the city council on Gromann's plan.
