BOCA RATON, Fla. - A Boca Raton family is pushing for bike safety three days after a bicyclist was killed.
George Morreal, 66, of Boca Raton died Sunday when he was hit by a truck on Yamato Road near the I-95 overpass.
Boca Raton police say the driver left the scene and then returned.
Morreale's family hired a lawyer to conduct an independent investigation.
"We don't know if something was taken out of the car. We don't know if that was the person driving, if one person was under the influence and then switched," said Glen Ged, the attorney representing the family.
No one has been charged in Morreale's death. Police say the investigation is open on ongoing.
