First look inside the Presidential Debate Hall at Lynn University

After weeks of being off limits, hall is open

BOCA RATON, Fla. - For the first time in months, media are allowed inside the Presidential Debate Hall, to look at the transformation. The Commission on Presidential Debates, or CPD, is on site erecting the stage.

"There's a lot that goes on, lots of generators around. We need to make sure the event goes off without a hitch, even if the power goes out," says Peter Eyre, with the CPD.

"We are thrilled here at Lynn. We are a small institution making a very big impact as evidenced by this event," says Lynn University President Kevin Ross.

Over the next 72 hours the debate stage will be set. The CPD will then determine how many seats are available for guests and students.

Just a block away, the Media Filing Center is finished, ready for a big night. Thousands of media are credentialed to use the facility and the spin room.

As preparations wrap up over the next few days, leaders at Lynn can smile about the pat on the back they're receiving from the CPD.

"Everyone here has rolled up their sleeves from day one and gotten the job done. It's been a great partnership, it takes a lot of work. Our friends here have done a terrific job," says Eyre.
