Boca Raton crash kills motorcyclist Robert W. Norton at Congress Avenue near Clint Moore Road

BOCA RATON, Fla. - A fatal crash Tuesday afternoon in Boca Raton temporarily shut down all northbound traffic on Congress Avenue from Clint Moore Road.

Investigators said a Mini Cooper driven by Francis C. Leopoldo, 65, of Delray Beach made a left turn in front of the motorcyclist.

The motorcyclist, identified as Robert W. Norton, 61, also of Delray Beach, died at the scene.

According to the Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office, as Leopoldo's vehicle entered an intersection to turn into a Costco shopping center, it traveled into Norton's lane and caused the collision.

The sheriff's office say the motorcyclist hit the rear passenger side of the Mini Cooper and was ejected. He died on the scene.

A passenger in the Mini Cooper received minor injuries.
