BOCA RATON — A man from Parkland driving northbound on I-95 died Friday when his car veered off the road and crashed.
The accident happened just north of Yamato Road around 9:13 a.m.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol, 26-year-old John Michael Martin was in the outer lanes of the interstate when his Ford Escort veered onto the grass of the east shoulder of the road. The vehicle then continued into shrubbery and slammed into a tree.
He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Investigators said he did not appear to be wearing a seat belt.
Troopers have not determined what caused Martin to lose control.
