Brian Hegmann: Suspect charged with stealing pricey bracelet from 'Wishes of Boca'

Suspect caught, asks clerk not to call police

BOCA RATON, Fla. - A Greenacres man apparently has been arrested and charged with stealing a diamond bracelet from a Boca Raton jewelry store.

Boca Raton police said that on Tuesday just before 3:30 p.m. there was a report of a robbery at the Best Wishes of Boca shop located at 2000 NE 5th Avenue.

Officers say that Brian Hegmann came into the store and began looking at diamond bracelets valued at $34,000.

The store clerk says that Hegmann asked him for his best price and he said the best he could do is $15,000.

Hegmann was later handed one of the bracelets, ran out of the store and jumped into a U-Haul.

The clerk and another employee followed the U-Haul to NW 40th St. and Dixie.

Hegmann, according to police, then got out of the U-Haul, handed back the bracelet and asked the clerk not to call the police.

Hegmann was charged with grand theft over $20,000 and booked into the Palm Beach County Jail.

Police said that Hegmann was on probation for trafficking in stolen property at the time of his arrest.
