Boca Raton teen Brooke Thabit receives assistance dog

Diving accident left her paralyzed

BOCA RATON, Fla. - Boca Raton teenager, Brooke Thabit, who was left paralyzed after fracturing her neck a diving accident has just been paired with an assistance dog named Motive

Motive will help Brooke retrieve items, open doors and be a special companion. The dog will train with Brooke once a week to strengthen their bonds and undergo an intensive two week training program before Motive is placed with Brooke for good.

Motive is a 2 1/2 year old Genesis Assistance Dog-in training.

Brooke's family and friends are trying to raise money to build a therapy pool in their backyard.
