Boca Raton police investigate a fatal shooting at a friend's gathering

BOCA RATON, Fla. - A shooting death is under investigation by Boca Raton police.

Officers says that on Sunday, just before 11:00 p.m., they were called to the Gables of Town Place Apartments, at 21445 Town Lakes Drive, to investigate a shooting.

Police say that when they arrived they found a man who had been shot in the chest.

Detectives say that they interviewed four people who were present at the apartment when the shooting occurred.

They all provided the same version of events, according to investigators.

They say the resident of the apartment Madison Flint, and friend Joshua Henry, called some other friends to come over.

Henry, according to investigators, brought a handgun with him. They say he was showing the gun and allowed people to dry fire the pistol.

Police say that Henry re-loaded the gun and set it on the counter.

Later in the evening, according to officers, Steele picked the gun up from the counter, pointed it at Holt and fired it.

Police say that Holt was transported to Delray Medical Center where he died a short time later.

The investigation is ongoing according to police
