Boca Raton bicyclist hit, closing Glades Road at St. Andrews Boulevard

BOCA RATON, Fla. - A man riding a bike was seriously hurt after being hit by a vehicle Friday morning in Boca Raton, closing Glades Road at St. Andrews Boulevard.

At about 4:42 a.m., Boca Raton police responded to a hit-and-run crash at the 6300 block of West Glades Rd.

The operator of a black Pedego electric bicycle, identified as Mario Sgroia, 53, of Boca Raton, was traveling west on Glades Road and struck from behind by a maroon 2013 Kia.

The Kia was later found abandoned and parked in a nearby residential neighborhood.

Investigators were able to identify the driver of the Kia as Jeffrey Camenzuli, 24, of Coral Springs, Fla.

Sgroia was transported to Delray Medical Center with serious injuries.
