A woman graduating from Florida Atlantic University was surprised by her Army husband Friday, who flew from overseas to attend the special occasion.
Selena Gomes' husband, J.P., who is stationed in Germany with the 173rd Airborne, returned home a day early and surprised her as she received her diploma.
The paratrooper was deployed a few months after their wedding and has been overseas for the last six months.
The crowd gave the couple a raucous round of applause as they hugged on stage during the ceremony.
Selena, a political science major, said she plans to move to Germany next year to be with her husband.
