In 2015, Ara Kamciyan died in a motorcycle crash in front of the Timbers of Boca community on Lyons Road and Escondido way.
His mother, Janett Kamciyan, said she and the rest of the neighborhood want to see a traffic light at the intersection.
“It has always been a treacherous road with the curbs, and people go off and back into yards, but now it is even worse,” she said.
Kamciyan said she is also trying to change the name of the street into the community; she would like to see it renamed Ara Drive.
“It is a way to immortalize him,” said Kamciyan.
The Palm Beach County commissioners discussed changing the street name on Tuesday and Kamciyan said now she is waiting for the final paperwork and the sign to go up.
