Conrad Anthony Thitchener: Okeechobee rape suspect now in custody in Poughkeepsie, New York

OKEECHOBEE COUNTY, Fla. - A 45-year-old man who was a suspect in the rape, battery and kidnapping of an Okeechobee woman has been located and arrested in Poughkeepsie, New York.

According to a release from the Okeechobee County Sheriff's Office, Conrad Anthony Thitchener had been wanted for questioning in the December 23rd case but left the area on January 2nd.

On May 13, 2014, Thitchener was taken into custody by the Poughkeepsie Police Department assisted by the Dutchess County Sheriff's Office and the U.S. Marshals Service Fugitive Task Force. Circumstances surrounding his capture are unknown at this time.

He will be extradited back to Okeechobee County at a later date to face four counts of sexual battery, kidnapping and battery.
