OKEECHOBEE COUNTY, Fla. - A man is in custody in Okeechobee County after a stabbing Thursday at the Mi Pueblo store on Highway 70 West.
Arriving deputies found a man who was bleeding from a large wound on his neck and holding himself up by two poles.
They learned the suspect was walking east on Highway 70.
A deputy took 39-year old Abel Zeyala-Hernandez of Miami into custody and began questioning him. Investigators later charged him with attempted homicide.
The victim, who was not identified, was transported to Raulerson Hospital where he was stabilized. He was then sent to Lawnwood Regional Medical Center and Heart Institute in Fort Pierce.
His condition was not released.
Zeyala-Hernandez is being held at the Okeechobee County Jail.
