Jones, 31, of Boynton Beach was on his way home after playing drums when his car stalled along Interstate 95 at PGA Boulevard.

Officer Nouman Raja believed it was an abandoned car and stopped to investigate, according to authorities. Raja was on duty but was wearing civilian clothing and driving an unmarked car.

In the days following the fatal shooting, family members and rallies have been held calling for transparency and answers from the city.

In November, the city of Palm Beach Gardens terminated the employment of Raja.
