Police search for shooter in Palm Beach Gardens robbery

PALM BEACH GARDENS, Fla. -- Police have released updated details about a shooting and attempted robbery in Palm Beach Gardens Sunday.

It happened in a parking lot of a 7-Eleven on PGA Boulevard near the Florida Turnpike.

Police say acquaintances met to complete a business deal involving a vehicle.

At some point one person armed himself with a pistol and attempted to rob a second person, according to police.

The victim took off and claimed a shot was fired as he fled. The victim was not injured.

Officers were nearby and stopped the suspect vehicle. Police arrested the driver who was identified as 22-year-old Angel R. Rodriguez of Lakeland. They charged him as an accessory to the incident and booked him into the Palm Beach County Jail.

The passenger, who was identified as the alleged shooter, managed to escape.

Police described him as a black male with a medium build who was wearing a white shirt and black pants.
