PALM BEACH GARDENS, Fla. - A Palm Beach Gardens teen has been eliminated from the Scripps National Spelling Bee after attempting to spell another word for scarlet fever.

The word that caused trouble for Tommy Spurlin was scarlatina.

Spurlin attends St. Mark's Episcopal Church and School and not only is a good speller but a math whiz too.

Rohan S. Jakheteof Stuart made it through round 2 when he correctly spelled jadeite.

However, he stumbled in round 3 when he attempted to spell annihilate.
