PALM BEACH GARDENS, Fla.-- As professional golfers make their way through the PGA tournament, they try to relax off the course.
"If they need anything, we find out how to get it," explained Kim Goering, who works as a player concierge at The Honda Classic.
If golfers need to find a restaurant, want to take their family on a visit to the zoo, get a good babysitter or find a special doctor, Goering and the other concierges must make it happen, and fast.
" 'My tee time is in an hour, I got to get a haircut', we will find somebody to actually get to their room and get it done," she said.
Ray Paley is also a concierge. He remembers a time when a golfer's parent needed access to a motorized cart to get around.
"We ended up going to a grocery store and borrowing one of those, and plugged it in every night and charged it," he said.
Being the wife to a player also comes with its perks. They receive a complimentary massage or facial and any item they want from the gift shop. The wives are also presented with a gift bag, which includes a silk scarf by designer Gretchen Scott.
"We want to make it feel like it's home," Paley said.
