Michael Venditto, Palm Beach Lightning cheerleading coach, accused of unlawful sexual activity

Bond set at $30,000

LAKE PARK, Fla.--A Lake Park cheerleading coach is accused of unlawful sexual activity with at least two underage girls.

Deputies with the Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office arrested 27-year old Michael Venditto Wednesday. Detectives have been investigating Venditto since August of last year when one of the girls came forward with information.

Thursday morning his bond was set at a total of $30,000.

Venditto was coaching for the Palm Beach Lightning, a traveling all-star cheerleading squad. One of the girls accusing Venditto of illegal sexual acts was a member of the cheerleading team. The other teen, who's now 17-years-old, says she was only 14 when the alleged sexual acts took place.

According to our news partners at the Palm Beach Post, the girl who was a member of the cheerleading squad was sexually battered by Venditto in March or April of 2011. The girl was only 17 at the time. She told investigators that Venditto was driving her home from practice one day when he stopped behind a fast food restaurant near Hypoluxo Road and Interstate 95.

She says Venditto climbed into the backseat of his Jeep and asked her to join him. When she didn't comply, the girl told investigators that Venditto pulled her into the backseat and sexually battered her.

Detectives believe there might be other underage victims  who haven't come forward. If you know anyone who may have been involved with Venditto, you're urged to come forward with information.
