Local sea turtle gets a nudge of help

JUNO BEACH, Fla. - An amazing story of survival between a marine animal and humans. Loggerhead Marinelife Center biologists in Juno Beach are helping an endangered leatherback sea turtle named "Clover."

They know her so well they've been able to name her because she frequently nests in the area. She is missing both rear flippers and cannot dig her own nest, so biologists sneak up behind her and quickly dig a hole for her to drop her eggs.

The process is done in accordance with rules and regulations of the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission. Biologists do nothing that could distract the nesting female. This is Clover's 6th time nesting in the area.
