The Jupiter Town Council is scheduled to vote Tuesday on a scaled-back plan for the controversial Love Street development.

On the “Stop the Love Street Project” website, more than 3,000 people have signed a petition against the project.

The council is hoping to see modifications to the development like fewer buildings, more green space and no proposed viewing tower.

Developer Charles Modica started out with plans for a 19-building development on a vacant lot that he owned on the Jupiter Inlet. The plan was to have restaurants, vacation units and an observation tower.

But after hearing from many vocal protestors and a hesitant Jupiter Town Council, that plan has now been downsized.

A vote is expected Tuesday, but there is still some concern that the council will not be able to make a final decision just yet.
