JUPITER, Fla. - A vehicle struck a coyote Tuesday in the Abacoa neighborhood of Jupiter.
Busch Wildlife Sanctuary is now caring for the injured animal.
Sanctuary executive director David Hitzig said you could see more coyotes because it’s breeding season and they have few natural predators.
“There is nothing to keep coyote populations in check. No big predators, Florida panthers are endangered species red wolves no longer exist here,” Hitzig said.
Hitzig said an easy way for you to scare off a coyote is to fill a soda can or water bottle with rocks and shake it at the animal.
