JUPITER, Fla. - A proposed development is being discussed by Jupiter Planning and Zoning Commission on Tuesday night.
The Lakewood development would be built by Cypress Realty of Florida on the 260 acres of vacant space on the north side of Indiantown Road and west of the Florida Turnpike.
The plans for the gated community have been scaled back in recent months with hopes of approval. The newest proposal has 286 homes, about 60 homes fewer than the original plan. There is no gas station as originally suggested.
There would be a restaurant, clubhouse and drugstore on site. Acres of land would be used for research and development in the current plan.
The Jupiter Planning and Zoning Commission meets Tuesday at 7 p.m.
