Police make arrest in Jupiter hotel parking lot armed robbery

JUPITER, Fla. - Jupiter police have arrested a 20-year-old man they say is one of two suspects in an armed robbery around midnight Sunday near the parking lot of the Best Western Hotel at 810 South U.S.Highway I, according to a media release.

Jametrice Williams was arrested on Thursday after he tried to flee from a vehicle identified as the getaway car in the armed robbery, according to authorities.  

Two men, one of whom had a gun, approached the victim, who has not been identified, and demanded she give them her tote bag. They took the victim's purple tote bag containing a wallet, iPad, iPhone 5 and credit cards and fled the parking lot in a gold 2000 Chevrolet Tahoe, police said.

On Thursday police located the getaway vehicle near Alternate A1A and tried unsuccessfully to stop it. The car sped away in the direction of Interstate 95 and was spotted again in the area of West 28 th Street and Old Dixie Highway in Riviera Beach, where the suspects were seen throwing the woman's belongings from the vehicle. The Tahoe finally came to a stop near West 26 th Court and the three occupants fled on foot. Williams was the only one caught and arrested, police said.
