Pedestrian struck in Jupiter at Indiantown Road and US 1

PALM BEACH COUNTY, Fla. -
Palm Beach County Fire Rescue and Jupiter police are investigating a pedestrian accident at Indiantown Road and US 1.

A vehicle struck a jogger who was found lying in the road when Palm Beach County Fire Rescue crews arrived. Trauma Hawk was called to transport the patient to St. Mary's Medical Center.

Police say the 40-year-old male jogger was heading westbound when the vehicle, traveling north, collided with the runner.

The pedestrian hit the hood of the car then the windshield and suffered serious injuries.

Drivers can expect delays during the investigation.

Monday night a man was struck and killed by a vehicle as he walked north across the eastbound lanes of Indiantown Road at the intersection with Military Trail.

Saturday, 33-year-old David Rizzotti of West Palm Beach was walking on the sidewalk down Okeechobee Boulevard on when he attempted to cross Indian Road.

He was struck and killed by a vehicle that a preliminary investigation indicates was trying to turn onto Indian Road from Okeechobee Boulevard.
